Merko Group, LLC, was founded in 2008 to supply ingredients for the food, beverage and cosmetic industries in Latin America. Today the company procures ingredients and provides supply chain solutions for countries across the globe.

Owned by Erika Martens, Edgar Kock and Carlos Martens, Merko is the 2011 Minority Emerging Global Firm of the Year. The company is certified as a woman-owned and minority-owned business. In just three short years, revenue has grown from $315 thousand in 2009 to an estimated $3 million this year.

Examples of a few of the products that Merko sources and supplies internationally include coconut, sweeteners like fructose and dextrose, starches, polyols like sorbitol emulsifiers like lecithin.

This month they are attending ANUGA, the world’s largest food and beverage fair for the retail trade, food service and catering market, in Cologne, Germany.
