Patricia Adams is the owner of Zeitgeist Expressions, Inc. provides employee assistance programs, consulting, and counseling services that help corporate clients for their employees through a nationwide network of professionally trained psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists.
Adams has been in business since 2001 when she decided to expand her solo therapist practice and pursue a broader business model focusing on workplace wellness.
A licensed marriage and family therapist, professional speaker, trainer, consultant and writer, Adams is the 2011 SBA Small Business Person of the Year, Region VI.
Memberships in Central South Texas Minority Business Council and the National Association of Woman Business Owners were key to her burgeoning success, Adams says. She is a former board member of the Greater San Antonio Mental Health Association, and is on the Speakers Bureau of Healthy Families and San Antonio Methodist Health Care System Crisis Care Unit of Chaplains.
She acknowledges that an important business milestone was winning state, federal and corporate contracts. “If I could win one, then I knew I could win others,” Adams said.
Today, her company not only has offices in Texas — Austin, El Paso, Del Rio, Killeen, and San Antonio — but also in Kansas, Kentucky and Colorado. As a result of her own success, Adams mentors other women and minority business owners.
Recently, Adams has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2011 Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2011, 2010 Enterprising Woman of the Year, and the 2010 Sterling Bank Woman of the Year.
